Sleeping Dogs Trailer Released

Will this True Crime remake live up to its promise?
Square Enix's rebooted version of the True Crime franchise is certainly looking like one to watch, especially as the new video game Sleeping Dogs is pretty much the only big release for August we know of right now. The shooter's storyline follows a covert agent's mission to bring down a corrupt organisation at the heart of China's economic mainframe before it brings about global chaos, an epic premise for a great Hong Kong third-person action-adventure title if there ever was one. This first trailer released by Square Enix and developer United Front Games shows us that we'll constantly be on the edge of our seats, blasting our way to kindgom come through henchmen and bosses galore, suggesting that we may be getting a rather cool old-school gung ho experience rather than one of the stereotypical COD-esque shooters ever other FPS aspires to be. Much like Rockstar with Max Payne 3, United Front seem to want to take the shooter genre in a completely different direction to the browns and greens that now dominate it, and I for one applaud their efforts. We'll see if the fans of True Crime flock to the new version of the series when Sleeping Dogs retails this August.
