Rovio confirm their compilation's expansion after a major success!
Angry Birds Trilogy will expand its console releases to further Nintendo consoles, Rovio Entertainment and Activision Studios have confirmed today. The hit original game, which compiled Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Rio for a critic-befuddling £30 price point, has now sold over one million copies, a turn of events which has prompted the developer and publisher to release the three-pack game onto further consoles later this year.
The WiiU version in particular will make use of the console's exclusive GamePad in order to control the direction of the flung birds through the touch-screen. There'll no doubt be fans and critics of the original iOS and Android saga of free games who'll lament this further cash-cow milking of the franchise, especially as these three titles are available for free on iPhones and Kindle Fire devices right now, but there's a sense of 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it, just sell more' overriding this whole announcement that has some logicality.
Angry Birds Trilogy will ship for Nintendo WiiU and Wii this Summer.
