Andrew Garfield is back as the Marvel web-slinger for another superhero film outing next Summer...Sony Pictures and their Marvel Studios department have today revealed the first full plot synopsis for the follow-up to 2012's hit film reboot The Amazing Spider-Man. Set after the events of the divisive original movie, and creatively titled The Amazing Spider-Man 2, the second instalment in the franchise will once again feature Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker and his titular alter-ego, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacey and Sally Field as Aunt May, while introducing Jamie Foxx as Electro, Shalieene Woodley as Mary-Jane Watson, Paul Giamatti as The Rhino and Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn amongst other new stars. For now, this plot summary does little to reveal what to expect here, but hopefully we'll have a trailer for the sequel come the end of 2013 as filming has already started.
Here's the synopsis: "For Peter Parker, life is busy- between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen, high school graduation can't come quickly enough. Peter hasn't forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen's father to protect her by staying away- but that's a promise he just can't keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro, emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn, returns, and Peter uncovers dark new clues about his past."
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 swings into cinemas across the globe on May 2nd, 2014.
