Leo Tolstoy's Russian classic comes to the small screen in two years!The BBC have this week announced that a new television adaptation of classic Russian novel War And Peace will enter production in the near future. Originally released in 1869, the text focused on real-world events such as the French invasion of the region of Russia and indeed the country's subsequent liberation. BBC1 Controller Danny Cohen had this to say on the new upcoming television drama version: "War And Peace is truly epic in scale and builds on BBC1's commitment to bringing audiences drama of this highest quality and impact. Told over six episodes, Andrew Davies will bring his exceptional powers of adaptation to this literary masterpiece." We'll have more news on casting and production as it commences in the early months of 2014. War And Peace will air on BBC1 in 2015.
