Zero Dark Thirty's Jason Clarke joins the cast of this primate-fuelled 2014 sequel.
20th Century Fox have today updated us with a few new production details on their upcoming fantasy film sequel Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes. Firstly, it's been confirmed that Jason Clarke- star of Zero Dark Thirty, Lawless and The Great Gatsby- will play the unspecified lead role in this much-anticipated follow-up to 2011's hit Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes (5/5). That's one intriguing development, yet perhaps moreso, the news that this instalment in the pseudo-rebooted franchise will take place fifteen years after its predecessor is food for thought. James Franco was under the impression in late 2012 that he would not return for Dawn, and with the sequel looking set to focus on Caesar's attempts to maintain control of his ape army after humanity's depletion from the teased virus, that looks set to be the case. Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes is set for release on May 23rd, 2014.
