New Batman: Arkham City Details Arrive

Fresh from Gamescom have come a load of exciting new details on Batman: Arkham City, the upcoming open-world superhero game. The main announcement by developer Rocksteady has been that Mr Freeze will appear in the game, posing a unique threat to the Dark Knight as he adapts his battle strategies depending on what Batman throws at him in combat, meaning the player will have to adjust their method of attack before Freeze outwits them! Also, we've discovered that the Challenge Maps will this time consist of three types, Combat, Stealth and Speed, the latter added as a way of participating in platforming races across the vast game world, which spans five times that of Arkham Asylum. Finally, we're going to see 3D integration once again, with glasses provided for TVs that aren't customised for full 3D support, and now full use on 3D tellies too. All in all, these reveals only seem to have strengthened what looks to be a huge package, and showcase why this remains my most wanted game of 2011. Batman: Arkham City is out October 21st.
