Can this legendary action franchise survive without its lead?Universal are taking a big old risk with The Bourne Legacy, removing Matt Damon from the equation as their series lead for now and instead placing Avengers star Jeremy Renner into the limelight. Renner plays new Treadstone agent Aaron Cross, who finds himself thrown into the midst of an international conspiracy that threatens to cause the deaths of thousands of innocents should he fail in his misison to stop it. The newly released trailer doesn't exactly show off tonnes of the plot, and certainly this isn't one of the necessarily more anticipated entries in the Summer Of Film, yet there is perhaps a chance that the movie can succeed off the back of fans' love for the franchise and the general passion for action cinema that's shown in every blockbuster season. The Bourne Legacy hits cinemas on August 13th.
