Electronic Arts themselves confirmed the game's existence with a beta revealed to be a part of the 2012 Medal Of Honor: Warfighter package, so that they're now making further progress on telling us actual details about it comes as little real surprise. What is a shock, though, is that we could be learning everything there is to know about this ambitious FPS project in as little as two weeks' time!
Yes, EA has confirmed a special game announcement event at the Game Developers' Conference 2013 on March 26th, urging the press to "save the date" in their diaries. It's quite possible that Microsoft could at least announce the name of their new console at the show ahead of a fully-fledged hardware reveal in April, but for now that's speculation on my part. Nevertheless, this promises to be a exciting vision of where EA and DICE's most successful annual franchise can go in years to come...
