Sam Mendes Declines Bond 24 Role

MGM Studios will no doubt have started the hunt for a new helm...
MGM Studios have today confirmed that Skyfall director Sam Mendes won't return to direct the next James Bond film. It's a sad move, as Mendes' work perhaps what was arguably the greatest Agent 007 film ever, yet this is undoubtedly a franchise that's always thrived on renewal, so perhaps it's a turn for the better. Mendes said that he needs to work on his stage productions King Lear and Charlie And The Chocolate Factory fully in 2013 and 2014, but that he feels "very honoured to have been part of the Bond family and very much hopes to have a chance to work with them again in the future." We'll have all the news on the new film project, rumoured to feature a title song once again from Adele, as it comes. Bond 24 is set for release in 2014.
