A prologue scene to the new season of Doctor Who is coming this weekend...
As if it wasn't enough to have had a brand new trailer for Doctor Who's anniversary season last weekend and the promise of a Pointless Celebrities Whoniverse special this Saturday, the BBC have today announced that a prequel to The Bells Of Saint John is also coming to our screens in just a couple of days' time.
This mini-episode by Steven Moffat sees the Doctor taking a break on Earth after weeks spent trying to find Clara on his epic mission stated at the end of The Snowmen. Whether the Time Lord will encounter the same strange enigmatic hooded figure who appeared in the Asylum Of The Daleks prequel (watch that below, coupled with Pond Life, the prequel starts at 5:12 minutes) remains to be seen, but if that is the case then an intriguing new story arc could be kicking off in the second half of Season Seven!
Doctor Who: The Bells Of Saint John Prequel will be made available on the official BBC website at 12pm on Saturday March 23rd and on the Red Button service at 5pm that day. Doctor Who returns to BBC1 with The Bells Of Saint John on Easter Saturday, March 30th.
