As we move closer to Doctor Who's return on BBC1 in just twenty five days' time, the BBC are announcing more and more news reveals on both the new season and the 50th Anniversary celebrations surrounding it. Today we've had a couple of exciting new announcements from the official site, and they're rounded up right here...
- REVERSE THE POLARITY OF THE eBOOK FLOW- BBC Worldwide have today confirmed that hit British teen fiction author Marcus Sedgewick will write the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary eBook for March. Focusing on the Third Doctor, and named The Spear Of Destiny, this third monthly adventure will feature Jon Pertwee's incarnation in a race against time and the Vikings to recover the ancient spear of Odin. It hits eBook digital stores on March 23rd.
- THE DOCTOR CALLS WITH A RED NOSE- Another big announcement has been that the Eleventh Doctor will make a "brief appearance" amongst the celebrations on Red Nose Day 2013. Whether Matt Smith will come bearing a trailer for the new season with fifteen days to go on that date remains to be seen, but it says a lot for the affinity the BBC holds for Doctor Who and indeed the prominence of the 50th Anniversary that the show is back amongst The Office, Call The Midwife and other big highlights of the Comic Relief line-up! Red Nose Day 2013 airs on March 15th.
Doctor Who returns to BBC1 with The Bells Of St John for a new season of blockbuster adventures on Easter Saturday, March 30th.
