We've been inundated with a massive blitz of Doctor Who news and reveals this evening, starting off with the incredible full trailer for the upcoming Spring 50th Anniversary season that's a mere two weeks away. You can see the trailer- which features Ice Warriors, spectacular planets, Cybermen, and the Doctor becoming truly terrified of something- below.
On top of that, we've had it confirmed that a mini-episode prequel to season opener The Bells Of Saint John is on its way. Set to hit the BBC Red Button service next Saturday evening, the prequel will take place after the events of The Snowmen and before the events of the opening episode to this season. Here's the plot brief: "The Doctor takes a break on Earth, despondent that he can't find Clara..." Combined with a Pointless Celebrities special themed around the show next Saturday, it should be another immense warm-up treat!
Finally, we've had leaked a few new posters teasing the first four adventures ahead for the Doctor and Clara. These posters confirm that the episode titles for Episodes 1-4 are The Bells Of Saint John, The Rings Of Ahkaten, Cold War and Hide, all of which will commence broadcasting in just a couple of weeks' time.The posters for these can be seen below the trailer.
Doctor Who returns to BBC1 on Saturday March 30th, with the Bells prequel to come next Saturday March 23rd at 5.15pm on the BBC Red Button Service along with the Pointless Celebrities special on BBC1. First reviews of Bells will surface on Monday!
