WiiU UK Supermarket Price Cut Revealed

The Nintendo WiiU clearly hasn't done quite the rounds its creator intended, as the UK is getting a price cut at Asda...
The UK supermarket retailer Asda has today revealed that they are cutting the price of the Nintendo WiiU video games console hardware as of this week. This surprising move presumably comes in the midst of disappointing sales for the alleged next-generation hardware in late 2012 and early 2013, and with any luck will turn the tide for the console's sales for the remainder of the year.

So far, the WiiU boasts a decent, if slightly limited and unoriginal line-up. ZombiU, Nintendo Land, New Super Mario Bros U, Assassin's Creed III, Batman: Arkham City Armoured Edition, Mass Effect 3 Special Edition and others are already out for the console, with hit blockbuster games such as The Amazing Spider-Man: Special Edition, Rayman Legends, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 confirmed to come to the hardware later this year. If Nintendo really want sales though, they'll need to start bringing out more exclusives like the recently announced Mario U, Mario Kart U, The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD, Zelda U and Super Smash Bros U in the next nine months.

The 8GB Nintendo WiiU console will now retail for £199 and the 32GB Bundle with Nintendo Land will retail for the new price of £249. For all the latest WiiU news, keep it On-Screen...
