Doctor Who Pointless Celebrities Special Announced

Pointless, Doctor Who special
Alexander Armstrong's comedy quiz show celebrates 50 Years Of Doctor Who this month!
As if weren't enough for us to have a Red Nose Day cameo and the first episode of Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary season, The Bells Of Saint John, the BBC have today confirmed another appearance in the TV schedules for everyone's favourite Time Lord this month. Well, kind of. Alexander Armstrong's BBC1 comedy quiz show Pointless Celebrities has become something of a popular hit with viewers, amassing a strong viewing figure of millions each week, so the chance for the Whoniverse to be featured there was just too great an opportunity to miss.

As such, in just twelve days time, we'll see Sylvester McCoy (the Seventh Doctor), Sophie Aldred (Ace), Frazer Hines (Jamie), Andrew Hayden-Smith (Jake in Rise Of The Cybermen, The Age Of Steel and Doomsday), Jacqueline King (Sylvia Noble), Bernard Cribbins (Wilfred Mott), Nicola Bryant (Peri) and Louise Jameson (Leela) face off against one another along with the help of Alexander (Mr Smith in The Sarah Jane Adventures) and K-9 in a series of quick-witted battles of intelligence on the Whoniverse, general knowledge and more!

In terms of kicking off the 50th Anniversary TV celebrations with an early bang an entire week before the new anniversary season of blockbuster episodes begins, and just a week after a Red Nose Day sketch from the Doctors, fans couldn't ask for more from the BBC. Pointless Celebrities: Doctor Who airs on BBC1 on Saturday March 23rd at 6pm.
