There's a reason why I've been building up to the broadcast of the Doctor Who mid-season finale, A Good Man Goes To War: we're about to get answers. I'll be seeing the episode at the same time as you on Saturday at 6.40pm, but here's the spoiler-free info I can give you on Episode Seven on the last day before it airs and the revelations pour in...
1. In a prison hospital, Amy Pond kisses her one-month old baby goodbye.
2. Twenty thousand light years away, the Doctor has a message for the 12th Cyber Legion.
3. The Last Centurion has a question that consumes his every waking moment.
4. At Stormcage, River Song is escaping for what may be the very last time.
5. River: "This is the battle of Demon's Run. The Doctor's darkest hour. He will rise higher than ever before- and then fall so much further."
6. River again: "I can't be with him till the very end. Because this is it. This is the day he finds out who I am."
7. Sontarans, Cyber-Men, Silurians, the Eye-Patch Lady (Madame Kovarian) and Dorium (the blue man from The Pandorica Opens) all get time to shine.
8. We find out at least the true nature of River Song's identity.
9. Watch the monitor screens. And the corridors.
10. There'll be a big cliffhanger at the end to keep us guessing until Who returns in September. What is it? I have no idea, but it concerns who River is, the true nature of the Doctor and Amy's relationship, Rory making a tragic mistake, a throwaway line from Series 5 having huge meaning now and lots more. Rumour has it Episode 8 is called War of the Germans, so perhaps it's something which forces the crew to continue adventures but with a strong arc...I really don't know, but there's only one day until we find out!
A Good Man Goes To War airs tomorrow at 6.40pm on BBC One.
