Smallville: Top 10 Best Episodes (#10-#5)

Nothing can express how strange it feels to be saying that Smallville is done- I began watching just two years ago, joining in 2009 for the eighth season after blitzing through the first seven boxsets before E4 got round to starting airing in May, and yet in that time I have become a huge fan of the show and of Superman and DC Comics as a whole. Now, it's time to look at the best episodes of Smallville, so here's my top ten:
#10: PHANTOM- The Series Six finale, this left us with three great cliffhangers including the deaths of Chloe, Lana and possibly Clark as out of nowhere Bizarro emerged!
#9: MEMORIA- When Clark and Lex both delved into their pasts to discover long-lost secrets, we got a great episode that sparked multiple arcs which would develop strongly over the course of Season Three.
#8: KANDOR- It could perhaps have done with two episodes as opposed to one, but Kandor gave viewers an intriguing (and rare) glimpse at Krypton before its destruction.
#7: LEXMAS- Proving not all stories have to be related to the DC canon, Lexmas took us to an alternate world as Lex's mother showed him his potential if he renounced evil.
#6: DESCENT- Narrowly losing out to the next episode on this list, this was the one where Lionel was killed off by his own son. Perfectly written, although the CIA agent did seem a touch too forgiving of Lex's actions...
#5: RECKONING- Jonathan Kent's demise was given full attention with this mid-season finale of sorts, dealing with Clark's tampering with destiny and genuinely evoking a sense of empathy as the trials of Jor-El took a turn for the very worst...
