Smallville: Top 5 Worst Episodes

Ever wanted a way to convince potential viewers of Smallville not to watch? Without being too negative, there were several occasions over the last ten years where were it not for the general quality of each season I might have considered stopping watching. Here are the worst offenders:
#5: PERSUASION- A clue to writers of the show- it does not help Clark's destiny AT ALL to have Lois be transformed into an obeying housewife for an entire episode, nor does it make for even somewhat compelling viewing.
#4: DOOMSDAY- The worst of the Smallville finales bar one, Doomsday was an awkward mixture of lame CGI and tediously slow plotting. Avoid where possible...
#3: SPIRIT- Another clue to writers of the show (not that it can help now)- don't include vampires to mimick Buffy. And then, don't make Kristen Kreuk, the brilliant Lana Lang, attempt to play one of said fanged villains on top of her dull ancestor arc.
#2: COMMENCEMENT- The worst Smallville finale bar none. I really didn't like Season Four, and while the second meteor shower is ace this rounds off the Teague arc (seriously, who came up with that?) terribly and features an anti-climatic cliffhanger.
#1: HEX- Oh, but I can sit through those four, which is more than I can say for this. Based around the 'sinister' magician Zatanna, this was in fact just a rubbish attempt to shoehorn more fantasy into a show that thanks to its super powers was already deep enough without a totally unique and mostly unsuccessful DC character stepping in!
