- An attendee of a BBC press conference this week said BBC One Controller Danny Cohen confirmed that Doctor Who would not return for a full season of thirteen episodes in 2012, but a "special run" for its fiftieth anniversary in 2013.
- This, of course, led to a huge outburst of anger from fans, the sci-fi having only been back for two years since 2009 (when just four episodes aired). Right now, it's uncertain how many episodes will air next year, with a rumour being that Series Seven will be split over Autumn 2012/Spring 2013 and then that another series will air later in 2013. Exec producer Steven Moffat hasn't confirmed or denied anything, only saying "Misquotes and misunderstandings. But I'm not being bounced into announcing the cool stuff before we're ready. Hush, and patience!", and the official Who magazine merely added "Moffat said there is 'cool stuff' on the way- we can definitely vouch for that. Doctor Who's future is safe and secure."
- The first episode of Torchwood: Miracle Day is confirmed to air on Starz in the US on the 8th of July, however the BBC Press Office released their listings for the week of the 2nd-8th July this afternoon and there was no sign of Miracle Day, leading to speculation we might get each episode one day or two later than America (cue another outburst of rage from the fanbase!).
