More Mass Effect 3 Details Revealed
GameInformer's exclusive look at Mass Effect 3 last week has sparked a wave of new information on the anticipated finale to one of video gaming's biggest franchises. Just today, two more sets of details have hit the web, the first regarding the combat mechanics and the latter the setpieces we can expect. Executive producer Casey Hudson noted that "If you look at the way Mass Effect 2 was received by fans and critics, I think there's reason to believe that the [combat] formula we arrived at was right. Now, I think there are tweaks we can make to that." Hudson wouldn't be drawn yet by GameInformer on what we might expect to have changed, however he did promise "enhanced cover mechanics" and much more "aggressive" enemy AI. The exec then went on to say that the final story in the science fiction trilogy will feature "incredible moments", with "every one of the [plot] arcs we've got going" coming to fruition in some form by the game's conclusion. OXM have said that major changes made to improve planet scanning will be revealed in their first look on May 5th, and more intriguing still Hudson speculated that a massively multiplayer online Mass Effect game "makes sense", wondering "wouldn't it be amazing to just live on the Citadel or just take a ship to Omega if you get rid of the Reapers?" Mass Effect 3 is set for release this Winter.
