Glee: Blame It On The Alcohol Review (4.5/5)
Another top notch episode this week in the part of the season where Glee just seems to be on a roll, Blame It On The Alcohol is a healthy diversion from the norm, taking our favourite musical club down the road of the bottle and seeing what effects getting drunk has on each of them. As ever, the writers of the show take the opportunity to inject a shedload of humour into the situation, ranging from Will and Coach Beast's bar rendition of One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer to Britanny's vomiting over Rachel in front of the entire school as the drunken misfits attempted to do Tik Tok after a particularly strange cocktail (and I loved the principal's naming of the song 'The Tik and The Tok'). What was especially apparent in the episode was the cast's ability to burst out of their comfort zone so gracefully, Lea Michele being a major example of just how wide a range of roles the actors and actresses manage to take on throughout each series. Blame It On The Alcohol did perhaps try to tackle one too many storylines with the Kurt, Blaine and Rachel sub-plot, which could easily have been given a whole episode to come to fruition closer to the finale. However, while that was a slight misstep on the part of the writers, this week's story was daring, hilarious at times and all round just a generally fun watch!
