Shift 2: Unleashed Review (6.5/10)
Following up on last November's Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit (8/10) with a sequel to 2009's NFS: Shift was always going to be a risky move, and there's a definite sense here that this was rushed to market by EA to keep the franchise constantly at the forefront of gamers' minds. In all honesty, not much has changed since the previous game- the graphics are still sublime, more than matching up to the likes of Forza Motorsport 3 and Gran Turismo 5, the driving experience is uncannily realistic, catering mostly to the sophisticated players, and the soundtrack is well-rounded with a track for pretty much every person on the planet. However, that doesn't make the sequel any more enticing...why not just buy the original for a tenner? That's a question I truly cannot answer; you'll have to see if the new cars on offer to drive are really convincing enough for you to part with your hard-earned cash over the other top racers in the genre!
