I've said I'm trying to veer away from spoilers for the most part this year regarding the sixth season of Doctor Who, but with the premiere coming only two weeks and two days from now I thought it might be best just to recap what we now about the first half of the series, consisting of seven episodes to be aired in the Spring, and then let you speculate...
EPISODE ONE/TWO: THE IMPOSSIBLE ASTRONAUT/DAY OF THE MOON (23rd/30th April)- The Doctor, Amy, Rory and River- one of them is going to die properly here. Four TARDIS envelopes are sent out, three to the Doc and the Ponds, but the other to who if not River...? The crew head to 1960s America to find out, meeting Nixon, the titular space explorer and series adversary the Silence along the way! (All revealed by DWM, not a spoiler site, and DWM are saying other timelines like the Nazis and Edwardians we saw in trailers factor in)
EPISODE THREE: THE CURSE OF THE BLACK SPOT (7th May)- Maybe a stupid title, but we know something female's haunting a pirate ship with the TARDIS team on the ship...and that's it!
EPISODE FOUR: THE DOCTOR'S WIFE (14th May)- Need I say anything more than the title? Suranne Jones (an amazing actress) plays Idris and her "new soul", the Ood have green eyes, and there's a junkyard. Oh, and it hasn't got River Song in it and is written by Neil Gaiman (Google him- that's big!)
EPISODES FIVE/SIX: THE REBEL FLESH/THE ALMOST PEOPLE (21st-28th May)- From the titles, gangs and clones here. We're promised massive cliffhangers in both episodes.
EPISODE SEVEN: A GOOD MAN GOES TO WAR (4th June)- Rumour has it the Cyber-Men and Sontarans cameo here, but that's only a minor point in the story...River's identity, the Doctor getting angry and why Amy Pond really joined the TARDIS- all of that here and a SCREAM when the cliffhanger signals a three month break!
