Mass Effect 3 Is Not The End
Mass Effect 3 is definitely the final instalment in the award-winning science fiction video game trilogy, but by no means should you assume that means the end for the franchise as a whole. "We're pretty big," exec Greg Zeschuk said to GameInformer, "we have lots of teams, lots of possibilities. Even though we will effectively finish the trilogy, it's not like it's over in the sense of 'Hey, we're going to put the Mass Effect world on the shelf forever and never come back to it'. We're already thinking about [the future]." One of the aforementioned possibilities could likely be a online multi-player game for the PC, or at least a new entry featuring an online mode on the Xbox 360 and PS3, speculated earlier this week by executive producer Casey Hudson. Of course, what is confirmed is an anime movie (likely taking place before the events of the first game or after the events of ME3) set for release on home video next year, and we have still got Mass Effect 3 to look forward to before things start to get more difficult, but Zeschuk assures us that "One that's really clear [to BioWare] is people love Mass Effect. We really want to satisfy them and really move it forward." Mass Effect 3 is due for release this Winter.
