Doctor Who Series 6 Finishes Shooting
The sixth season of Doctor Who concluding shooting yesterday, we can confirm. The show's official Twitter feed broke the news early on July 11th, noting that scenes involving "a character's feet" and "unit base" were shot yesterday, and the official magazine said that "a very important scene for the first episode" was also filmed. This could mean multiple things- either a scene for the first episode in the second half of the season, Let's Kill Hitler (but this seems unlikely as the episode is set to be aired at a press conference in just over a month), or something which has big relevance regarding the series opener The Impossible Astronaut, perhaps resolving the supposed death of the future Doctor at the hands of a mysterious spaceman (or woman?) or the Silence story arc raised in that particular installment. DWM revealed that the next episode to shoot will be the 2011 Christmas Special. When Steven Moffat revealed the title of the festive episode to current Doctor Matt Smith, the actor apparently "nearly fell off his chair", so we should expect very exciting things to take place when the story begins shooting in late July or August! Doctor Who returns in September.
