Head of EA Games Frank Gibeau said earlier this year that EA is "figuring out a way to bring
Mirror's Edge back", and today vice president Patrick Soderlund has also confirmed the company is very much insistent on the franchise returning in the near future. "I loved
Mirror's Edge and what we did with it," Soderlund said to GameStar, "We have not abandoned the franchise. And we are working on something, but I'm not willing to talk more about that." Odds are with

Battlefield 3 and EA Games busy promoting that,
FIFA 12 and
Need for Speed: The Run prior to their releases this Fall, Soderlund doesn't want to add to the heavy workload or indeed give away what Electronic Arts have planned for 2012 (aside from
Mass Effect 3). However, don't be surprised if once the aforementioned Autumn titles are out EA announces a new
Mirror's Edge game for 2012, likely at an event such as the Spike Video Game Awards.
