Tides saw Captain Jack Sparrow face off against the evil Blackbeard whilst searching the high seas for the Fountain of Youth. I didn't rank it too highly, awarding it just 2.5/5 for a real sense of it lacking in innovation and the quality of the new actors' performances being relatively low and forgettable. With any luck a repeat viewing might help me see the film's strengths, but nevertheless it remains one of my biggest disappointments in 2011's cinema offerings so far.
