According to reports, the PlayStation 4 is set to be announced later this year for retail in 2012. The speculation follows the no-show of any new home technology at E3 from Sony despite Nintendo revealing their new home console, the WiiU, for release next Summer. DigiTimes has stated that the 'PS4' will feature a Kinect-type motion detector, improved high-definition visuals and a focus on using the body to control video games. Sony stated earlier this year that they were "not even debating the PlayStation 4" yet as the PS3 is doing so well in stores, but perhaps that was a cunning ploy to make fans think no new console was in development so that the reported upcoming announcement comes as a big surprise. Either way, if the report is true, then expect to find out the first details on the PS4 this Autumn at Gamescom.
