Sonic The Hedgehog fans should already be happy in the knowledge that they're getting
Sonic Generations and
Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode Two later this year, but if that wasn't enough, the confirmation that two new games based around the iconic mascot of SEGA will arrive in 2012 should also help matters. The first of these will be a sequel to
Sonic and the Secret Rings and
Sonic and the Black Knight, both Wii exclusives that make up the 'Storybook' series, with this likely to be a conclusion to the trilogy forming part of the WiiU launch line-up. The latter is a new
SEGA Superstars title, following up on 2009's
SEGA Superstars Tennis and last year's
Sonic & SEGA All Stars Racing. Odds are that will be just about everything Sonic has to offer next year, but with four episodes confirmed for release of
Sonic The Hedgehog 4, you'll likely see the remaining two released in 2012, and if
Generations goes down well then chances are we might see a new 360/PS3 effort.
Sonic Generations is out this November.
