More release dates for some of the biggest upcoming movies around!
The film industry appears to have headed into something of a news frenzy recently, from The Hobbit becoming three films to The Great Gatsby getting pushed back to next Summer for its release. We've now got two release dates for a couple of major upcoming flicks- Despicable Me: The Minions and The World's End. The former is a spin-off from the hit animated movie franchise starring Steve Carrell that will now focus on the hilarious yellow Minion side-characters, while the latter is the final instalment in Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright's 'Cornetto Trilogy' that began with Shaun Of The Dead and Hot Fuzz, this time focusing on an apocalyptic setting presumably inspired by the Mayan calendar ending this year. Both promise to be hilarious comedies currently brimming with potential, so it remains to be seen what their respective studios can do with them between now and release day! The World's End crashes into cinemas on August 10th, 2013, while Despicable Me: The Minions arrives on December 19th, 2014 (with Despicable Me 2 already set for a July 2013 release).
