As sad a day as it may be, we've now come to accept that The Ricky Gervais Show met its end on E4 this week. With this in mind, though, it might leave fans of Mr Gervais' to wonder- what will the man with the plan for TV Comedy do next? Already we know that Ricky wants to get to work on the first full season of Derek, but surely he has more plans than that? As a matter of fact, yes he does: Ricky will once again work with Karl Pilkington on a series of iTunes podcasts. Titled Learn English With Ricky Gervais, these new comedy segments will feature Ricky and Karl determining the most 'valuable' assets of our fine language for those less linguistically able with the English vocabulary than ourselves. It promises to be a hilarious follow-up to the animated E4 show, one rife for potential gags and laugh-out loud moments, and you can catch the first preview of the series below.
On top of that, it's now been confirmed by Gervais that Life's Too Short will return for one final one-off special in the near future. The production team would quite possibly have done a full second season in Summer 2013 if time had allowed, but Gervais, Stephen Merchant and indeed Warwick Davis all appear to be too busy to make that kind of commitment. Nevertheless, it'll be good to see one final outing for Warwick's fictitious persona. Learn English With Ricky Gervais' first episode lands on iTunes on August 14th, and Life's Too Short returns to BBC1 in Spring 2013.
