Gamescom: EA Press Conference Round-Up

New details on Dead Space, Battlefield and more big EA projects!
Although this year's Gamescom convention isn't as packed with big corporate press conferences as usual, there were still a few notable showings of interest in the past couple of days. One such entry? EA's official 2012 press conference, which covered a host of new franchise instalments and individual projects that the publisher has its various development factions working on at this time. We've rounded up all of the big news from EA's conference below, and beyond the list you'll see a few of the new trailers unveiled by the publisher...

  • ARMY OF TWO: THE DEVIL'S CARTEL- Electronic Arts had already announced their new reboot for the Army Of Two franchise, and now they've provided us with an exciting new trailer and release window for the game. Army Of Two: The Devil's Cartel will launch in March 2013, pitting itself against big newcomers like Tomb Raider, South Park: The Stick Of Truth and Gears Of War: Judgement.
  • NHL 13- Just a brief note here to say that the hockey franchise's next instalment is indeed on its way this Autumn, with a confirmed demo release date of August 21st and a full product release date of September 13th.
  • NEED FOR SPEED: MOST WANTED- Another brief update here really- Criterion Games have announced that their remake of Most Wanted will feature a cool online segment called 'Drift Challenge'. The name speaks for itself really, but there you go.
  • MEDAL OF HONOR: WARFIGHTER- Just a new trailer here for the much-anticipated sequel to 2010's Medal Of Honor reboot, this time showcasing the 'Fire Team' co-op online component.
  • BATTLEFIELD 3: PREMIUM EDITION- In perhaps the most cash-milking twist since Dead Island: Game Of The Year Edition, EA are providing us with a new edition of Battlefield 3 that will package in a one-year membership to the Premium club of early DLC. This will also pack in access to all five of the currently released DLC packs including exclusive weapons and vehicles. Battlefield 3: Premium Edition ships this September.
  • CRYSIS 3- Just another small update on this front, here looking at the 'Hunter' multiplayer mode which pitches the game's protagonists against CELL soldiers. Visually impressive stuff!
  • DEAD SPACE 3- A slightly updated version of the E3 reveal demo was on show for this latest entry in the horror sci-fi franchise. Dead Space 3 has been confirmed to ship on February 5th.
More EA announcements regarding the Nintendo WiiU and other new projects are expected in the next few months, so keep it On-Screen for all the big updates!
