Thor: The Dark World Villain Confirmed

Guess Who's joining the cast of this superhero follow-up?
It's barely been weeks since Thor: The Dark World entered production after the climax of Iron Man 3's filming run, yet we're already starting to get news on what and who to expect from the much-anticipated superhero sequel. Our first real piece of casting information? Christopher Eccleston will play Malekieth The Accursed, leader of the Dark Elves race who appear to be menacing everyone's favourite Nordic hero this time around. Eccleston is famed for his role as the Ninth Doctor in Doctor Who and more recently has appeared in feature films like G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra, but this role should certainly take him into exciting new territory, especially with the brilliant Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston returning as Thor and Loki (the latter of whom looks set to play more of a supporting role after his full-on attack in Avengers Assemble). Filming has started already, so the British Northern star will likely get onto his role and finish his work in production before the end of 2012- don't worry, then, Who fans, if the Ninth Doctor is back for a 50th Anniversary Special of Who then he'll still have plenty of time to film the special in the early months of 2013. We'll hear more on the project in the coming months, and there'll likely be a trailer in the Summer of next year. Thor: The Dark World storms into theatres on November 8th, 2013.
