The sequel to one of 2010's best films is on its way...
For anyone who doesn't quite remember Kick-Ass, it was a brilliant superhero comedy-drama movie that really served as a breakthrough for rising stars like Aaron Johnson, Chloe Grace-Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse while also encompassing bigger stars such as Nicholas Cage and Mark Strong into a generally fantastic piece of cinema. It's been sometime now since that legendary cult great landed, so as is the way in the film industry, a follow-up was always waiting in the wings to keep fans happy and their money flowing into ticket booths. Lo and behold, Kick-Ass 2 has been 100% confirmed today with the release of the first poster for the superhero sequel online. As you can see here, bar the rather bloody '2' attached to the original logo and the release window, there's little more to see. All the same, though, after several cast members (including the main trio mentioned above, now much bigger stars) were attached to the project it's great to know that this second instalment in the proposed trilogy is most certainly on its way. Bearing in mind this is starting to shoot later this year, expect it to go up against Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues in the final months of the next one. Kick-Ass 2 hits cinemas in 2013.
