Is it time yet? Not quite, but the BBC have raised our anticipation even further!
The BBC have this week released the first plot synopsis for the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special The Day of the Doctor. Set to broadcast later this month, the celebratory feature-length episode will provide a retrospective on the past half-century in which the show has survived, while setting plot strands in motion for future seasons.
For some time now, the narrative of the Doctor's 'greatest adventure' has been shrouded in secrecy, and although this plot brief hardly clears things up, there are one or two intriguing hints in there. Here's the official BBC synopsis for The Day of the Doctor: "The Doctors embark on their greatest adventure in this 50th Anniversary Special. In 2013, something terrible is awakening in London's National Gallery; in 1562, a murderous plot is afoot in Elizabethan England; and somewhere in space an ancient battle reaches its devastating conclusion. All of reality is at stake as the Doctor's own dangerous past comes back to haunt him."
Doctor Who: The Day of the Doctor will broadcast on BBC One and in cinemas nationwide on Saturday November 23rd.
