Sherlock: The Empty Hearse Broadcast Window Announced

#SherlockLives, as the Great Detective returns to BBC One- but when...?
The BBC have today announced a broadcast window for the first episode of their detective drama Sherlock's third season. Titled The Empty House, the series opener takes place two years after the events of Series Two's finale The Reichenbach Fall and chronicles Sherlock Holmes' return to the world in the midst of an impending terrorist plot.

At this stage, the studio haven't offered up a definitive broadcast date for Episode 1. What they have provided, however, is confirmation that the ninety-minute première will air on BBC One between December 21st and January 3rd (i.e. during the Christmas season). It's impossible to know exactly when to expect The Empty Hearse, but given that Series Two commenced broadcasting on New Year's Day 2012, a New Year début for Series Three isn't out of the question.
