TT Games and Marvel Studios have today released a series of fictitious videos based on their LEGO Marvel Superheroes video game universe. The five-part run, titled Maximum Overload, sees the Avengers and Spider-Man facing off a variety of their oldest foes, as the treacherous Loki sets in motion a dastardly plot to take control of the planet Earth.
This writer has to admit unreservedly that there's a great deal of credible effort that's clearly gone into the production. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, perhaps, but there seems to have been a notable risk taken in bringing these shorts to YouTube free of charge rather than initiating a £5 DVD release as has been the norm with recent LEGO Star Wars shorts. With any luck, this move is a sign to come. Regardless, each of the five videos (below) are worth your time, and the first episode of the series is attached to this post.
LEGO Marvel Superheroes assembles on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo WiiU, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo DS and PC on November 15th.
