Just who is The Man Under The Hood? The answer may not be as obvious as you think.
Showrunner Marc Guggenheim has today revealed the first details on the nineteenth episode of the second season of The CW's superhero drama Arrow. Based on the adventures of DC Comics' iconic archer, the series chronicles the ascension of Oliver Queen into the mantle of the Green Arrow as he battles villainous adversaries in Starling City.
Speaking in a press interview today, the executive producer firstly confirmed that Episode 19 will go by the name of The Man Under The Hood. Unlike the titles of the next three episodes- Suicide Squad, Birds of Prey and Deathstroke- this one doesn't reveal quite so much about the premise of the mid-season première, nor does it offer up hints as to who the week's antagonist will be (Oliver's psyche, perhaps?). What we do know, though, is that Danielle Panabaker and Carlos Valdes will feature as Man's major guest stars, taking on the roles of two professors from S.T.A.R. Labs, a scientific organisation which was introduced in Season Two's two-part mid-season finale The Scientist and Three Ghosts.
Seasoned fans will no doubt recall that those two particular instalments introduced us to Barry Allen, better known in the DC-verse as the Flash, and while Barry won't make any more appearances in Season Two due to his comatose state, both Panabaker and Valdes' characters will return later this year in The CW's spin-off show The Flash. If nothing else, by making their débuts in Arrow first, the pair of up-and-coming thespians will start to gain sympathy from the viewership months before they acquire recurring roles in Flash, allowing us a degree of familiarity with Grant Gustin's Barry, Panabaker's Caitlin and Valdes' Cisco months ahead of their regular stints. As if all of that info weren't enough to process, Guggenheim even went on to reveal that more characters will know the Arrow's true identity before season's end and Detective Lance will come closer than ever before to learning the truth. Exciting times ahead...
Arrow continues on The CW with Suicide Squad this Wednesday March 19th and on Sky1 with Time of Death this Thursday March 20th.
