Find out the US release dates for The Wolverine 2, Ridley Scott's next project and more right here...20th Century Fox have today revealed a revised release schedule for several of their upcoming blockbuster motion pictures. As if it weren't enough for us to simply know what the studio has planned for this year, we're now clear on precisely which films they intend to launch between 2015 and 2018 as well.
Here's a full round-up of all of the US release dates that Fox have confirmed in their latest press release- there's no official word as to quite what form the aforementioned Ridley Scott project will take, but if recent reports are to be believed, then the possibility of it being Prometheus 2 is greater than you might initially expect:
- TAKEN 3- January 9th, 2015
- TBC RIDLEY SCOTT PRODUCTION- March 4th, 2016
- THE WOLVERINE 2- March 3rd, 2017
- THE FANTASTIC FOUR 2- July 14th, 2017
- X-FORCE- July 13th, 2018
The only real surprise in that particular roster is the emergence of a sequel to The Fantastic Four, not least since the upcoming franchise reboot hasn't even commenced shooting yet and has attracted its fair share of sceptics thanks to the controversy surrounding its lead stars. Fox are clearly holding onto their remaining Marvel properties tightly, ensuring that the rights to both X-Men and the aforementioned quartet of superheroes remain firmly in their grasp until at least 2018. Aside from those projects, it never ceases to astonish us that a third Taken outing can still be justified commercially, although in fairness, the prospect of a new contribution to the film industry from the creator of Alien just about makes up for it!
