Wizards Vs. Aliens Third Season Commissioned

Doctor Who reviver Russell T. Davies continues his reign on CBBC this Autumn.
The BBC have today announced the commissioning of a third season of their hit children's fantasy drama Wizards Vs. Aliens to be broadcast later this year. Created by Doctor Who's Russell T. Davies, the series served as a necessary replacement for Who spin-off The Sarah Jane Adventures in the aftermath of the passing of Elizabeth Sladen, yet it has gone on to become a cherished franchise for the studio's kid-orientated division.

Like SJA before it, in its first two seasons WVsA has comprised of half-hour episodes, Season One featuring 12 (in the form of six two-part stories) and Season Two boasting an increased number of 14 (seven two-part tales). The latter value is probably going to be the one which CBBC stick with this year, meaning that fans of the programme can expect another seven hours or so of magical/extraterrestrial goodness courtesy of Russell, Phil Ford (who will take over as its executive producer this year), Doctor Who Magazine's ex-editor Clayton Hickman and other British TV greats. We'll have all the news on the show's next run, its guest cast and its renewed episode format as it comes in the months ahead.

Wizards Vs. Aliens returns to CBBC for a third season of wizarding mishaps this October.
