Grant Gustin runs circles around his predecessors this Autumn!
The CW have today released a new promotional image for the pilot episode of their new superhero drama The Flash. This much-anticipated Arrow spin-off will see Grant Gustin reprise his role as Barry Allen and his super-powered alter-ego the Flash (whose full costume can be seen below!) as the iconic DC character investigates the murder of his mother and other unexplained supernatural occurrences in Central City.
Tonally, we've been told to expect a show that falls more in line with the science-fiction genre than Arrow's weekly action-adventure/thriller-style exploits, yet given that Smallville blurred the line between these two generic categories on regular occasions, it's unlikely that a great deal of problems will come about as a result. There's still two months yet until The CW's Upfront event, where they'll confirm which new projects have received the greenlight for a full season, but with all of the marketing momentum that The Flash has gained in the space of a few short weeks, anything other than an instant commission will surely come as a major shock to everyone involved and Arrow's ever-growing fandom.
The Flash premières on The CW this Autumn.
