Disney's seasonal smash hit continues to dominate in cinemas across the world!
Walt Disney Pictures have today announced that their critically acclaimed animated film Frozen has broken yet another global box office sales record. Released last November, the festive flick focused on the tale of an isolated princess' desperate attempt to be reunited with her sister and to simultaneously end the eternal winter plaguing the kingdom of Arendelle.
Scarcely a week seems to go by nowadays without Frozen reaching a commercial milestone or two, and in this instance, Walt Disney Animation Studios can afford to be truly proud of their success. As of today, the movie has become the 13th highest-grossing motion picture of all-time, surpassing the likes of The Dark Knight, Jurassic Park and The Lion King and ranking just behind best-sellers such as Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Toy Story 3 all the while. Looking at the Top 20 list in its current state, it's abundantly clear that Disney must be pretty content with their lot in 2014, since almost half of the aforementioned top-earners were produced by the House of Mouse in the last two decades, and with cash-hoarding franchises such as the Muppets, Captain America, Maleficent and Planes all set to make their return over the course of the next nine months, their unrelenting campaign of cinematic domination doesn't look set to falter anytime soon...
Frozen lands on DVD and Blu-Ray this March 31st in the UK and is available now at all good disc retailers in the US.
