Prometheus 2 Announced

Sorry, folks, but another sequel that no-one asked for is in the works!
20th Century Fox have today announced the production of a sequel to their science-fiction blockbuster Prometheus for release in the near future. Starring Naomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender, the 2012 film chronicled the crew of the Prometheus' first encounter with extraterresterial life on the mysterious planet of LV-223.

It would be an understatement, however, to say that Ridley Scott's high-octane Alien prequel proved to be everyone's cup of tea at the time of its initial release. In fact, as preludes go, we're struggling to recall another example which garnered such a remarkable amount of hype in the run-up to its début and then managed to squander it so instantaneously once viewers entered the appropriate auditorium to see it in action. Rapace and Fassbender are both back on board for the follow-up (with Fassbender reportedly set to portray multiple versions of his enigmatic android character David), but that's by no means a guarantee of success, and indeed, Scott has his work cut out if he hopes to come close to matching the critical acclaim of the sci-fi horror classic which brought him to the forefront of his industry's attention way back in 1979.

Prometheus 2 will set up operations in cinemas worldwide on March 4th, 2016.
