Our first details on the premiere Avengers Phase Two movie arrive!Fresh off last week's synopsis for Thor: The Dark World and ahead of its trailer's arrival next week, Marvel Studios have today released the first narrative synopsis for the upcoming superhero sequel Iron Man 3. With Robert Downey Jr, Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle back on board and both Ben Kingsley and Guy Pearce joining the cast for this new instalment, our excitement levels for this project were always going to be high anyway, but this first set of details on the film's storyline just raise the bar even higher for our anticipation!
The synopsis reads as follows: "Marvel Studios' Iron Man 3 pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy's hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?"
Between Thor's needing to protect the Nine Realms and Stark's 'surviv[ing] by his own devices' in their respective solo sequels, it certainly seems that Marvel is carrying out on their goal of viewers being unable to simply ask why the Avengers don't show up to help, giving each individual character a personal or universal challenge which only they and they alone can deal with! The trailer for this one hits next Monday. Iron Man 3 lands in cinemas on April 24th, 2013.
