Arthur will deal with three devilish witches next week!Fresh off another arc-heavy narrative for Merlin with Another's Sorrow this week, the BBC have revealed that the fifth instalment in the final season will focus on a more standalone addition of lore to the Arthurian legends. The as-of-yet untitled Episode Five will air a week on Saturday, and the synopsis for the new adventure reads as follows:
"In the inky depths of an ancient pool, three soothsayers cast a dark judgement upon the king of Camelot. But despite Merlin's warnings, headstrong Arthur refuses to take the words of the Disir seriously and their fury rains down on Camelot. Only the greatest sacrifice can appease them, and with the kingdom in jeaprody, is it one that Arthur is prepared to make? Faced with the King's uncertainty, Merlin has just one chance to save him from his destiny, but this decision comes at the highest price."
With all the terms of 'sacrifices' and 'prices' thrown around in the plot outline, fans may well begin to wonder if perhaps a big death in the regular cast or even a revelation regarding Merlin's secret is on its way. We'll find out for sure next week! Merlin continues this Saturday on BBC1.
