Yes, you did read right: today, Disney have announced their acquisition of Lucasfilm, making them responsible for all future Star Wars and Indiana Jones movie projects. Fresh off the press, then, we have had it confirmed through various press releases and conference calls that three entirely new Star Wars big-screen instalments are coming our way in the years ahead.
First up and a definite is Star Wars Episode VII, the seventh full entry that will likely follow on from where 1983's Return Of The Jedi left off, as Luke Skywalker and his allies must deal with the reprecussions of the destruction of the Empire. Could a new cast of heroes come into play? Perhaps; no matter what happens, that we're going to be getting three new trips to a galaxy far, far away in the next seven years is information that's exciting enough to go on for now.
