Wizards VS Aliens Premiere Date, Details Revealed

Russell T Davies' new fantasy series is coming this month!
It's been sometime now since The Sarah Jane Adventures came to an end after the tragic passing of its lead star Elizabeth Sladen, but thankfully the writing and directorial teams for the show haven't gone to waste since, eventually rounding together to create the new CBBC series Wizards VS Aliens. A spiritual successor to the Doctor Who spin-off, the fantasy drama will focus on a modern war between young magicians and the evil extraterrestial Nekross on the planet Earth. It's not perhaps the most original of ideas, but to some extent neither was SJA, and that turned out to be a brilliant show, so don't count this one out just yet. The synopses for the first two episodes have been revealed by the BBC and are below:

• DAWN OF THE NEKROSS PART 1: Tom Clarke is hiding a secret- he's a schoolboy wizard! But when the magic-eating alien Nekross arrive on Earth, a battle for survival begins. Tom must use his magical powers to protect his family- but only the school geek, Benny, can help him against the plans of the terrifying Nekross King.
• DAWN OF THE NEKROSS PART 2: With his Gran trapped in outer space, Tom and Benny must dare to go inside the mystical Chamber to ask the mysterious Randal Moon for help. But with time running out for Ursula, and Tom's dad joining the fight, can even a magical hobgoblin fight an enemy from beyond the Earth?

As with Adventures, Wizards' opening season is split up into six two-part instalments to be shown in dual slots each Monday over the course of six weeks. It's been confirmed by the BBC that Wizards VS Aliens will premiere on CBBC on Monday October 25th, and we'll bring you the first review of Dawn Of The Nekross later that day.
