Find out who'll be taking Kirsten Dunst's place in 2014!
It's safe to say that this year's superhero film reboot The Amazing Spider-Man was a surprise hit in the Summer Of Film- it might have not been the most original effort, but it packed a lot of heart and some great narrative surprises. Well, now we have casting details on the woman who'll rock Spidey's world in the final two entries of the announced trilogy: Mary-Jane Watson herself. Marvel Studios have confirmed that Shaliene Woodley will portray Peter Parker's most influential love interest, taking on the role after Kirsten Dunst's portrayal in the original 2002-2007 trilogy and indeed coming off the back of further teen angst in the flawed-but-decent The Descendants. No doubt that once filming gets started we'll find out if this means the Death Of Gwen Stacy storyline awaits Emma Stone's romantic rival character in the follow-up; either way, it'll be interesting to see how the Webbed Wonder's love life progresses next time around! The Amazing Spider-Man 2 swings into cinemas everywhere on May 2nd, 2014.
