The BBC Press Team for BBC3 fantasy television series Being Human has issued a few exciting new details on its upcoming fifth season. Courtesy of showrunner Toby Whithouse, we've now discovered a few more intriguing morsels regarding the aftermath of Annie's final sacrifice to destroy the Old Ones, and sufficed to say that the dark message that 'He Will Rise' left with us earlier this year will have big ramifications later on. Here's a quick news roundup:
- ON PHIL DAVIS' ANTAGONIST: "He's in all six episodes. Yes, and it's more complicated than that. I can't tell you how happy I was when we got Phil. I was writing the first draft of the finale, which is a colossal episode for the character, and I was struggling to find the character's voice; something about it wasn't clicking. Then I thought, 'Oh, y'know who'd be brilliant for this part? Phil Davis.' Suddenly, writing that character became infinitely easier. And he's just brilliant- he's so gloriously horrible in the role!"
- ON THE OLD ONES' FATE- "We're moving onto pastures new. In the series opener there's a scene that puts a full stop on the Old Ones, and we move on to much bigger and greater threats."
Expect plenty more plot hints as we move closer to the drama's full return! Being Human recommences broadcasting on BBC3 in February 2013.
