The Master Chief is back for more adventures beyond Halo 6, 343 Industries and Microsoft Game Studios confirm!
Microsoft Game Studios and 343 Industries have today announced the expansion of their originally announced Halo Reclaimer Trilogy. At first, it seemed as if this new series of science-fiction video games would span just three more instalments in the core adventures of the Master Chief at the heart of the acclaimed franchise.
The true news of today, however, tells a rather different story. After a statement from Microsoft's Phil Spencer hinted today that the Halo game teased at E3 2013 was not simply called Halo 5, we've now had official elaboration from 343 at IGN. Here's what they had to say on the matter: "We have a long-term vision of the future of the Halo universe and are excited to tell many stories, so we don't want to limit our plans to a trilogy. Our ambitions for the franchise are even broader than that, although the core story of the Master Chief and the Reclaimer Saga is still being approached with a classic narrative, with a beginning, a middle and an end. We simply have more storytelling tools at our disposal now."
The first next-generation instalment of Halo will debut exclusively on Xbox One in 2014.
