Metal Gear Solid HD Collection Announced
A collection of visually enhanced classic Metal Gear Solid games will release for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 later this year, it has been revealed. Speaking at a pre-E3 Konami conference, Hideo Kojima announced that the PS2 hits MGS 2: Sons of Liberty, MGS 3: Snake Eater and the PSP-exclusive MGS: Peace Walker will be packaged together with high-definition graphics and a reworked control scheme, while also containing new trophies and acheivements to work for in each title. PS3 owners will even have the chance to transfer their saves of Peace Walker to a PSP and continue their game on the move, the first in a range of "Transfarring" games coming to the handheld this year (and likely a scheme that will transfer to the NGP if it takes off!). No specific timing or pricing details were revealed at the conference, but most collections such as this retail at a great price of around £30 so expect this to fall in line. Kojima also revealed that Zone of the Enders and Silent Hill collections would arrive on PS3 this Winter too, that a new Silent Hill game would hit the Next Generation Portable in 2012 and that Metal Gear Solid: Rising would not be showcased at E3 this year- a shame, but we can probably anticipate more news on the title at the Game Developers' Conference in the Autumn.
